Ryutabi ("we", "our", "the app") is a travel companion app that helps you discover destinations and estimate trip costs. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
If you create an account, we collect your email address, a securely hashed password, and optionally your name. This is used solely to let you log in and save trips.
With your permission, Ryutabi uses your device's location to suggest a nearby departure airport when planning a trip. This happens entirely on your device — your coordinates are converted to a city/country using your phone's built-in location services and are never sent to or stored on our servers. You can deny this permission at any time and select your departure city manually.
When you use the app, we process information you provide — your mood selection, preferred region, travel dates, and chosen destinations — to generate suggestions and cost estimates. If you save a trip while logged in, this information is stored on our servers tied to your account so you can view it later.
If you view the visa requirement section on a trip estimate, we send your departure country and destination country (not your name, passport number, or any other identifying detail) to determine general visa guidance for that route. This is provided as general information only, not legal or immigration advice — always verify current requirements with the destination country's official embassy or consulate before booking.
Login session tokens are stored securely in your device's encrypted keychain (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) and are never accessible to other apps.
To power Ryutabi's features, our backend server (not your device directly) sends limited, non-identifying trip details — such as a mood, destination city, country, or travel dates — to the following service providers:

None of these requests include your name, email, or account identity.
When you tap "Tours & Activities," "Search Flights," or "Find Accommodation," Ryutabi opens your device's web browser to Viator, Google Flights, Booking.com, or GetYourGuide. We do not transmit any personal information to these sites — your interaction with them from that point on is governed by their own privacy policies. Ryutabi may earn a referral commission if you book through these links, at no extra cost to you.
If you create an account, your saved trips and profile information remain stored until you delete your account. You can request account deletion at any time by contacting us at the email below — we will remove your account and associated saved trips within 30 days.
Ryutabi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date above.
